PALM SPRINGS, CA – Boo2Bullying presents 2nd Annual DESERT’S GOT TALENT benefit show on April 28 at the Annenberg Theater

Founded in 2011, Boo2Bullying provides outreach, education, mentoring, inspiration and support for youth and their families. They identify as “a consortium of artists and visionaries dedicated to transforming this generation into one of strength and empowerment.” They seek to eradicate bullying, intolerance and discrimination by educating schools and parents about accepting diversity and giving young people the tools to connect with and positively impact those around them.

The 2nd annual talent showcase event—Desert’s Got Talent–will feature performers of all ages, with winners to be decided by the audience and celebrity judges. The 11 finalist contestants represent the diversity of the desert community, as well as Boo2Bullying’s commitment to eradicating all forms of bullying and discrimination that victimize young people in local schools, neighborhoods, online and at home.

The inaugural Desert’s Got Talent show in 2017 was a tremendous success, with over 300 attendees in the Annenberg Theater. The 2018 contestants range from 10 years old to 70 years young. Prizes include 2 round trip tickets with JetSuiteX tickets to Las Vegas show “O”.

Grammy-nominated jazz singer-songwriter Chris Bennett is the Musical Director. Emcee for the evening is Kellee McQuinn (Mack & Moxy, Space School Musical). The Special Musical Guest is Pop Star Emily Perry (Recording Artist) who hails from Australia.

Bill Marx (Composer, son of Harpo Marx), Vincenzo Scrima (Musical arranger for the Late Show), Lance Conrad (Guitarist, Palm Springs High School student),and Solange Signoret (Winner of Desert’s Got Talent 2017) are Guest Performers.

Celebrity Judges from the local community include Olga Morales (choreographer and performer in Gypsy, A Chorus Line), Sandie Newton (KMIR Cares host, Entertainment reporter), Chuck Yates (Coyote StageWorks Founder/Actor/Director/Screenwriter), Victor Ortiz ( American welterweight boxing champion, Showtime’s Ray Donovan) and Alvin Taylor (legendary American drummer).

WHEN: Saturday, April 28, 2018.  Red carpet 5:30 p.m.  Show starts at 6:30 p.m.
